There are three components of the application process.

Completion of the online application form including video or audio audition files. High quality video files are preferred, but only if they specifically show your performance (a film of a concert with several other musicians is probably not useful to us). In all cases, submit the highest quality recordings that you can provide. Guidelines will be displayed as soon as you choose an instrumental or vocal program on this page. When listing your educational background, please list your most recent (or ongoing) academic affiliation first, and then list others in reverse chronological order.

When composing your answers to two essay questions, you can expand the paragraph box by dragging the lower right corner. Please write as much as you like.

Requests for recommendation letters: At least two letters of reference are required. One of your referees must be your primary applied teacher. For the second referee, please seek a professional musician, fully experienced in period performance practice, who can best evaluate your preparedness and readiness for the ABS Academy programs.

Note: within the application, you will be required to enter the name and email address for each of your referees. Upon submission of your application, your referees will receive an email from Acceptd with instructions to upload the letters on your behalf.

Submission of application materials with payment of $35 application fee

Your application will be reviewed when all items are completed and received.

You will have the opportunity to revise your responses before completing this application, but once the application fee has been paid, further changes cannot be made.
