Description

Pittsburgh Festival Opera's Summer Season and corresponding Young Professional Artists Program is a combined professional training and performing oppurtunity that takes place in Pittsburgh for six weeks from June 11 to July 22, 2018 culminating with public performances of multiple fully-staged productions as part of Pittsburgh Festival Opera's season. This year, we are especailly encouraging those who may be suitable to cover a Wagnerian role to apply.

Performing: the performing element of the summer experience is the largest and most intense. It includes opportunities for solo performance for all participants in minor and major roles, as understudies, as choristers, in themed song recitals, concerts, and cabarets.

Training: the program has a training element, and artists will work with world-class singers, directors, conductors, coaches, and choreographers both in production rehearsals and in training sessions, which will include individual and group vocal and repertoire coaching, and master classes.

The program is intended for Resident, Featured, Young and Apprentice Artists (singers, pianists and stage directors).
