Two songs originally written in English (Copland, Barber, Rorem, Bernstein, Vaughan Williams, Britten, Haydn, Purcell, Handel, lute songs)

One song or aria originally set in a foreign language may be presented in the original language or in English (Mozart, Bach, Puccini, Debussy, Schubert, Brahms, seventeenth and eighteenth century Italian literature, or other opera and oratorio selections)

One song of the applicant's choice

Sight reading

Graduate:

A sacred or secular aria from the Baroque

A song from the nineteenth or early twentieth century from the German or French repertory

An operatic aria and/or an aria from the standard oratorio repertory

A twentieth-century song, aria, or chamber work (that can be performed with piano accompaniment)

Any other song or aria (applicant's choice)

Situated amid the vibrant cultural milieu that is Brooklyn, the Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in composition, music education, musicology, and performance, along with advanced certificate programs in music education and performance, a post-master's Advanced Diploma in Performance, M.F.A. programs in sonic arts and media scoring, and a new master of music in global jazz and contemporary music studies.
