Graduates of the Music Program from San José State University's School of Music and Dance

comprise a distinguished and extensive community of outstanding music teachers, award-winning composers, and active performers concertizing throughout the world. Our dedicated

artist/teacher faculty have received Grammys, Guggenheims, grants from the National

Endowment for the Arts, and many other accolades and honors.

A nationally accredited music program, we offer professional undergraduate training in Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Education, and Performance, as well as Master of Music degrees in Conducting, Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Education, and Performance. The Music Program supports over 30 active ensembles, including Opera Theater, Concert Choir, Choraliers, Jazz Singers, and several a capella ensembles. The program offers internship opportunities with professional music ensembles and innovative companies throughout the region.
