Applying for a Scholarship-

In fall of your senior year, schedule your audition with the VCSU Department of Music. Plan to perform on your primary instrument/voice and any secondary instrument on which you feel confident. Both majors and minors will take a music theory placement examination as part of the audition process. A score of 80% or above allows you to enroll in MUS 109 Music Theory I during freshman year. With a score of 79% or lower, you would enroll in MUS 101 Music Fundamentals, a course designed to prepare you for Theory I. Bring the following materials to your audition: completed Application to the Music Department (Information Form and Essay).

Complete the application to the University; pay a $35 admission fee; and apply for general financial aid and university scholarships. This is a second scholarship application: you may be eligible for general university awards in addition to music scholarships.
