Description

Create, work, study, be joyful! Sing!

The study of voice and opera with the Michigan State University College of Music encompasses creativity, technique, discipline and joy.

Our faculty are all world-class professional singers: Sopranos Melanie Helton and Anne Nispel, mezzo-soprano Jane Bunnell, tenor Richard Fracker, baritones Mark Rucker and Harlan Jennings, bass-baritone Marc Embree and coaches Elden Little and Sadie Rucker. Their bios are available on the website.

Our students and alumni are having vocal successes around the globe. We have had Metropolitan Opera national winners and young artists at such venues as Santa Fe Opera, San Francisco Merola Program, Central City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Des Moines Opera and Opera North. MSU Opera Theatre does two fully-staged productions with full orchestra in the beautiful Fairchild Theatre.
