Marlboro Music 2022 Season Summer Program
Description
Marlboro Music, led by world-renowned pianists Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss, is a seven-week intensive summer program for emerging singers and instrumentalists, with a focus on art song and chamber music (vocal ensembles as well as works with leading instrumentalists from around the globe). The focus of the program is the opportunity to rehearse in great depth with extraordinarily gifted emerging singers and instrumentalists, and side-by-side with distinguished 'senior' artist mentors. Artists have the opportunity to rehearse with great freedom and without deadlines (since programs are not planned in advance). The program culminates in five weekends of public concerts.
During our 2022 summer program (June 26-August 14) singers will have the opportunity to work on opera scenes with Ken Noda, and song and chamber music with pianist and coach Lydia Brown, in addition to receiving mentorship from soprano Benita Valente and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano.
Singers are provided with a full fellowship in addition to a small stipend of $250 per week to help cover expenses.
