2022 Awards Competition

MCW is pleased to announce the 2022 competition season.

Senior Vocal/Harvey division

For women singers aged 23-30, resident of (home or school address in) Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, or Iowa. Age and status determined as of application deadline date. Previous winners of the Harvey division (either of the prizes) are ineligible to compete again. Previous winners of the Newfield, Nerenberg and/or Farwell Trust Awards are eligible to compete for a Harvey Award.

Junior Vocal Division

For women singers aged 16-22, resident of (home or school address in) Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, or Minnesota. Age and status determined as of application deadline date. Previous winners of a Newfield or Nerenberg vocal award are ineligible to compete again in the Newfield division. Previous Farwell Trust Award winners are eligible to compete for a Newfield division award. Judges reserve the right to withhold an award.

Eligibility

Open to all woman-identifying musicians aged 16-30 (age as of date of application deadline, January 15th, 2022)

Must be able to provide proof of age (as of application deadline)

Must be able to prove residency or school attendance (by providing home or school address with proof of registration) in one of the following states:

IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, IA (as of date of application deadline, January 15th 2022)

Must not have previously won an MCW award in their intended division of competition (i.e., Harvey, Newfield, and Nerenberg winners 2021 and prior are ineligible to compete for those awards again, but could compete for a different award if otherwise eligible)

All awards are subject to US taxation; winners who are US citizens or resident aliens will be asked to complete a W-9. Non-resident aliens are still eligible to compete, but the award amount will be reduced to meet the tax requirement.

The deadline for submission of all materials is 11:59 pm Central Time on January 15th, 2022.
