10:00 am – 1:30 pm and 4:30 – 8:00 pm
You only need one copy of your music for the accompanist; judges do not need a copy of your sheet music.
Original music is not required but is accepted.
Make sure the copied music you bring for the accompanist is in a three-ringed binder.
Only ONE song selection is required for the Second Round; you have approximately 6 minutes of performance time.
You can sing the same selection from the First Round or choose a new selection.
You may bring your own accompanist or use the one provided, but there will be no time to practice with the accompanist beforehand.
Practice rooms will be available, but these rooms do not include pianos.
Semiformal daytime audition attire is appropriate.
Approximately 600 singers participate in the Second Round:
350 High School Divisions
200 University Divisions
150 Young Artist/Emerging Professional Divisions
Depending on the size of the division, approximately 14-40 singers from each division will advance to the Semifinal Round.
This is an open competition; parents, family, and others may sit in on the competition, space permitting.
Winners will be announced at the Dessert Reception on Sunday, May 25 at 9:00-10:00 pm in Chicago Ballroom 8 on the 4th floor. A list will also be posted online later that night.
