Milano: Day 3

We’re following JACOPERA as they make their international debut in Milan.

JACOPERA’s International Debut!

Milano: Day 3

Buon Giorno, tutti!

While our American friends are just waking up, we are heading to another rehearsal for our international debut. Thursday consisted of fighting off jet-lag and putting the final touches on the program, yesterday we had our first rehearsal with our accompanist, Maria Silvan Pavan, as well as visited the venue for Sunday. When we arrived at Magazzino Musica, we saw people setting up for a performance of scenes from La Fanciulla del West, and stayed to listen, while sipping on negronis and having snacks from the bar located within the venue. Magazzino Musica is just our speed – not pretentious, has a bar with food (always good!), and is an adorable intimate setting. So glad Jennie was able to find it!

Today’s rehearsal will be a run-through of the entire concert. Yesterday we went through the ensemble pieces, especially the world premiere (which we are all thrilled about). It is great to be singing with these lovely ladies again!

After the rehearsal, as we wandered through the streets of Milan, we found Via G.B. Pergolesi, which is only fitting since we are opening the concert with the first movement of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. We will take this as a sign of good luck. 🙂

Now, time to get off of Wi-Fi and enjoy the day.

Ciao!
