Erica Morelli – Soprano
Erica Morelli is an internationally acclaimed soprano celebrated for her luminous tone, dramatic range,
and magnetic stage presence. Praised for both her vocal brilliance and emotional intensity, she has
brought to life iconic roles including Tosca, Aida, Il Trovatore, La Bohème, Salome, and Eugene Onegin
on stages across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Erica made her professional debut as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Egmont with Sinfonia da
Camera, a performance that launched her international career. She has since appeared as the soprano
soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the National Opera of Albania and the International
Festival of the Aegean, showcasing her versatility beyond the operatic stage.
Her global engagements include solo appearances with orchestras across China—among them the
Shanxi Symphony, Jiangxi Symphony, Hunan Provincial Symphony, and Tianjin Grand Opera—as well
as gala performances with Bulgaria’s Pazardzhik Symphony. She has performed at prestigious venues
such as St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Lincoln Center in New York, and Volksoper Weimar.
In June 2025, Erica made her film debut in China in a production by ?????, further expanding her
artistic reach. Her commitment to contemporary music has inspired composers to create new works for
her, including Chloé Charody’s The Toybox and Jeffrey Brody’s Poe Songs.
Her artistry has been recognized with top honors such as the Deutsche Musikrat Stipendium, the
Neustart Kultur Klassik Stipendium, and a distinguished commendation from the German
Bundespräsident and the Senate for Culture for contributions to international cultural exchange. Earlier
in her career, she earned accolades as a Regional Winner and Audience Choice Award recipient at the
Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Erica holds a Doctor of Music and an Artist Diploma from Indiana University, completed graduate
studies at the New England Conservatory, earned a Master of Music from Boston University, and a
Bachelor of Music from the University of Illinois. She further refined her craft through elite young-artist
programs including the Weimar Opera Studio, Elardo Young Artist Program, Intermezzo Opera
Foundation, and New Jersey Opera Theater.
Dedicated to fostering new generations of vocal talent, Erica also shares her expertise as a teacher and
vocal coach. Her multifaceted career continues to bridge cultures, genres, and media—reflecting her
passion for the transformative power of music.
