Bio

Olivia Currier is a New York City-based mezzo-soprano from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has performed in outreach productions for the Amarillo Opera and Opera Steamboat, and as an Apprentice Artist with the Sarasota Opera. Most recently, she performed the role of Béatrice in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing (featuring music from Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict) with Shakespeare Opera Theatre. This fall, she will cover the role of Marcellina in Opera Magnifico’s production of Le nozze di Figaro and be will featured as a chorister in Teatro Grattacielo’s production of Spontini’s La Vestale. This winter, she will sing the role of Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus with Music on Site, Inc. This coming spring, she will present a solo recital at the Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel, Maryland, as part of their Classical Recital Series. She has sung previously with Quintessence: A Community of Singers as a Choral Scholar, alongside the Voces8 US Scholars, as the alto soloist for Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb with the Lubbock Chorale, and a guest singer with the Hungarian chamber choir Ars Nova Énekegyüttes. She has recently been awarded as the 1st Place winner of the 2021 DFW/Panhandle NATS competition, 1st Prize in the 2023 Nouvelles Etoiles Online Music Competition, and the Grand Prize at the 2021 21st Century Talents Music Competition. Ms. Currier holds a degree from Texas Tech University and currently resides in Bayonne, New Jersey.
