Bio

I've been teaching successfully for 25+ years in my private studio.

I'm an excellent vocal technician who's able to translate my own vast experience, talent and intuition for those I teach. I teach with clarity and encouragement while setting expectations and appropriate yet challenging goals with each individual student.

I teach with passion and energy creating an enriching environment with which to learn and grow. My greatest asset is diagnosing and determining how to proceed with the student’s best interest at the forefront. Identifying how to instruct each individual student with care and expertise is essential in providing the proper resources needed to create a healthy and long-lasting singing voice/technique.

At JMS, we view singing as a whole-body, whole-mind discipline. It’s not just about producing sound or performing songs; it’s about developing the complete artist. Through consistent, thoughtful application of technique and expression, students learn to bring music to life with depth and authenticity. Providing the highest level of education to support that growth is our core mission.

With so many of experience in private voice instruction, I founded JMS to unite expert educators and resources in one place. Our holistic approach supports the development of the complete singer—physically, vocally, and artistically.

Core areas of study include:

Vocal technique and breath control

Song interpretation and character study

Diction, language, and phonetics

Musicianship and audition preparation

Yoga-informed vocal work

Repertoire and performance development

Mindfulness

Application recordings and resumé guidance

Private students are strongly encouraged to attend two Masterclasses held annually (one per semester) and sponsored by JMS. Performances are held in January and June, with a potential third opportunity depending on the calendar.
