Staatstheater Cottbus

The opera choir of the Staatstheater Cottbus under its choir director Christian Möbius is certified by the public and the critics alike for enormous musical expressiveness, paired with stage presence and enthusiasm for playing. One hears “choral culture in every conceivable way”, a critic noted after a premiere of the Cottbus series “Opera Choirs à la Carte”: “Fine dynamic differentiations and precision in interaction. In addition, there was excellent articulation of both German and Italian texts.”

The choir plays a key role in opera and operetta productions, in performances of musicals and in concerts and is therefore an indispensable pillar of the entire theater.
