International Music Camp

The Choir program during Session 4 includes many opportunities for singers. In addition to daily rehearsals in either the Treble Choir or Mixed Choir, campers will participate in sectionals, theory, vocal technique classes, vocal ensembles, optional private lessons, diction, and foreign language classes. Campers may also be selected to participate in the Chamber Choir. Campers participating in the Choir session may also choose to be part of a Pop Choir for no additional charge. Two Pop Choirs will be formed based on age and they will focus on performing pop music both accompanied and A cappella. Pop Choir is optional, and open to any camper registered for Choir. A Men’s Choir and other special ensembles are available.

Another opportunity for advanced high school vocalists is to collaborate with pianists during Session 4. The Collaborative Voice and Piano faculty will select a few campers in the choir and piano programs to work together on repertoire for piano and voice. They will be coached together for one hour each day. These sessions are designed to teach the young musicians the intricacies of working together, and allow them opportunities to get immediate feedback and advice. Collaborative students perform on the Friday afternoon recital at the end of the session.

A $20 music fee is included in the registration fee to cover the purchase of camper music. Music can be brought home at the end of the week.
