Summer Vocal Academy

The 2021 Summer Vocal Academy will run from Tuesday July 6th to Sunday July 11th 2021 from 10:00 am to 4:00 or 5:00 pm daily.

This 6-day program is aimed at rising high school juniors and seniors, and college voice students who wish to enrich their knowledge and skills in classical voice from preparation to performance in a rigorous and supportive environment. Classes will be offered on such topics as foreign language diction, interpretation of art songs, breathing and movement, vocal health and individual development. Expanded this year to include a private lesson and private coaching session with Preparatory and Conservatory faculty, the Academy will conclude with a Master Class and performance.

Audition Required.

NB: Our curriculum has been designed to run virtually or in person, as public health circumstances allow. We encourage students and families to let us know their preference when they send in their audition form, and a decision will be made before the registration deadline.

Audition Requirements

Interested students must submit a video audition recording for consideration before May 1st, 2021. Early application is recommended.

Students should submit two solo classical art song or aria selections recorded within the past 6 months. One must be in Italian or English, and the other may be in any language. No musical theater selections. Please upload your audition to YouTube as an unlisted video and include the links in the Audition Form, found on website.

Your video does not need to be professionally recorded and can be made at home on a phone, iPad, computer, or other digital recording device.

You may use a recorded accompaniment track or a live pianist.
