Auditions for The Wizard of Oz.

We are combining our Young Rep and Teen Rep musical forces and taking our production to the Valentine Theatre main stage with performances on July 29th, 30th and 31st.

Auditions will take place at the Rep on Monday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th from 6-9pm. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by visiting www.toledorep.org/auditions and completing the Audition Request Form.

Please prepare 16 bars from a song that showcases your vocal range and ability. An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music for your song and wear comfortable shoes that you can dance in. There will be a short movement audition for each group. Callbacks will be on Thursday, May 12th beginning at 6pm.

Rehearsals will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday afternoons. Lead actors will need to be available for most rehearsals. Chorus, dancers and featured roles will not be scheduled for all rehearsals until the final weeks. Schedules, commitments and availability will play a large part in casting decisions.

We anticipate a good turnout of local talent and would like to ask all participants to consider their time and commitment to this production a top priority. With all of the different shows, theatre groups and productions available, it is hard to make a choice and commit to just one show. However, when actors spread themselves too thin, and are juggling multiple shows, all of those productions suffer. Make sure that before you audition, you are aware of your schedule conflicts and please list them on the audition request form.

Casting is open to young actors aged 7-19. We are looking for a large cast filled with all ages of talented singers and dancers. There will be multiple dance and ensemble opportunities for the chorus as well as the roles listed on website.
