Texas A&M Univ - Corpus Christi

The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-month position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre/Voice. This is a joint appointment with the Department of Theatre and Dance. Appointment begins August 2025.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities are teaching applied voice for both music majors and non-majors and leading musical theatre coaching and musical direction. Secondary responsibilities may include teaching music-focused courses in musical theatre or other related classes depending upon the candidate’s strengths and departmental needs. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a team-oriented departmental culture, and to undertake other duties according to the needs of the department.

Qualifications:

* A completed MFA in musical theatre, MM or DMA in Vocal Performance or Vocal Pedagogy.

* Demonstrated ability to teach applied voice, lead musical theatre coaching, and music direction is required.

* Evidence of the ability to be a successful teacher, scholar, performer, and congenial colleague is required.

* Piano proficiency, demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining students, and experience with interdisciplinary collaboration are highly desirable.
