University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education.
The School of Music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks a collaborative individual to engage in teaching, research, and service within an established and comprehensive college music program of undergraduate and graduate students at a metropolitan university. The person selected will 1) teach courses in music education at the undergraduate and graduate levels; 2) supervise students completing practicum and clinical teaching placements in K-12 settings; 3) assist the Director of Choral Activities including conducting one non-auditioned choir, recruitment, festivals, etc., and 4) serve as collegiate sponsor of the NAfME chapter.
Required qualifications for this position include 1) An earned Doctorate in Music from an accredited institution and 2) A minimum of three years of choral teaching experience at the secondary level. Additionally, applicants should be able to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
