The Canticum Novum Singers (http://canticumnovum.org/), led by its founder, Conductor and Artistic Director Harold Rosenbaum, is looking for singers for its exciting 2022 New York City and Westchester events, the first of two seasons of concerts of choruses from the cantatas of J.S. Bach. Programs will be:
January 23, 2022 – Bach Cantatas 13-24 – Will Healy, piano, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 68 Bedford Rd., Katonah, NY
January 29 – Cantatas 13-24, Will Healy, piano, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Amsterdam Ave., between 99th and 100th Streets in Manhattan
March 20 – Bach Cantatas 52-68 – Brian Daurelle, piano, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Katonah, NY
March 26 – Cantatas 52-68, Brian Daurelle, piano, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Manhattan
May 15 – Bach Cantatas 98-106 – Huizi Zhang, piano, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Katonah, NY
May 21 – Cantatas 98-106, Huizi Zhang, piano, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Manhattan
Please note: Proof of vaccination and masks will be required for participation. Please also note: Rehearsals will be held in a very large room, with adequate social distancing.
Called “an elite chorus” by The New York Times, the volunteer group is entering its 48th season. The choir has achieved both national and international recognition for its stylistic versatility, vocal blend, and expressive range. The ensemble has presented dozens of world, American, and New York premieres by composers ranging from Handel, J.C. Bach, Fauré and Bruckner, to Harbison, Berio, Schnittke, Rorem, Schickele and George Benjamin. Their latest CD is A Canticum Novum Christmas.
