Salve Regina University's Department of Music, Theatre and Dance invites applicants for a one year, full-time Choral Director and Lecturer with additional responsibilities in teaching voice and music theory for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The successful candidate is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the choral program, teaching courses in all levels of music theory and individual voice. Additional responsibilities include design and/or oversight of concert lighting, attire, set and sound.
We seek a colleague who is committed to helping students become well-rounded artists, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens within a supportive and professional environment. The ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students across music, theatre and dance is essential. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable history as a dedicated educator, and a record of social consciousness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership of the choral program including directing multiple choral ensembles
Teach three courses (9 credit hours) plus voice lessons each semester
Work closely with student facilitators of a cappella groups
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participation in Department of Music, Theatre and Dance planning, recruitment, retention of students and additional service-related efforts as they arise.
Requirements:
PhD or DMA preferred
Minimum requirement of Master of Music or equivalent professional experience.
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred
