The Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho invites applications for an Assistant Professor-Director of Choirs, a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month appointment for the upcoming academic year, starting August 18, 2025.

Responsibilities include leading the Vandaleers Concert Choir, the University Choir, and teaching related courses. This faculty member may teach other courses, as assigned by the Director, to be determined by qualifications and departmental needs. Preference will go to those with experience in at least one of the following areas: studio voice instruction, music education, and/or piano (repetiteur). The total teaching assignment will be equivalent to 16 credit hours. The faculty member will be responsible for maintaining scholarly research and/or creative activity. This faculty member will actively recruit and retain students, participate in School of Music outreach including clinics and master classes in regional schools, participate in unit/college/university committees and events, and advise/mentor students.

Required Qualifications

* Doctorate in Music

* Experience as a choral director at the secondary or collegiate level;

* Experience in scholarship and/or creative work.
