About this show: Join us for this landmark musical about a remarkable woman named Celie. All she knows is heartbreak and despair, until her friend Shug helps her realize her own self-worth. Celie uses her flair for fashion to build a better future. With a joyous score featuring jazz, gospel, blues, and African music, The Color Purple is a story of resilience and a testament to the healing power of love.

**Note: Student and Public matinees may be added after casting.

Rehearsals are from 2:00-10:00 PM Tuesday - Friday and various times on weekends. We rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary pending the size of the role. Pay ranges from 200+ per week for non-union. AEA Guest Artist Tier 3 Contract: $628/week plus per diem, health/pension/dues. Housing available for out-of-town artists.
