BELLE

- playing age: early to late 20s

- any ethnic background

- must tap dance & should be able to move very well

- soprano with a strong belt (up to C5, secure soprano F5)

THE BEAST

- playing age: early 20s to early 30s

- at least 180cm tall

- any ethnic background

- strong singer and actor

- lyric baritone or baritenor (up to F4)

GASTON

- playing age: early 20s to early 30s

- strong comedic skills

- should be able to move very well.

- Very muscular, attractive, physically dominant.

- Baritone or bass-baritone, with a large, rich voice and the ability to sustain a powerful F4

LEFOU

- playing age: early 20s to early 30s

- maximum 175cm tall

- any ethnicity

- must be an excellent dancer and performer with comic timing

- strong singer with a character voice and a secure G4

MADAME POTTINE

- playing age: 30 to 50 years

- alto or mezzo-soprano with a beautiful, warm timbre from F#3 to E5

LUMIERE

- playing age: 20 to 40

- any ethnicity

- Good dancer and tap dancer

- Smooth baritone voice in the style of Maurice Chevalier, must be able to hold at least an F4

VON UNRUH

- playing age: 20 to 40

- any ethnicity

- Character voice with good intonation.

BABETTE

- playing age: early 20s to mid 30s

- Tall, with sensual charisma

- Must be able to dance

- Should have a very confident voice and good harmony skills.

MADAME DE L'AMOUR

- playing age: 30 to 50 years

- any ethnic background

- Very theatrical

- Strong voice, good harmony skills

MAURICE

- playing age: mid-40s to mid-50s

- any ethnic background

- Character voice with confident intonation
