Ouachita Baptist University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Music - Voice (Tenor, Baritone or Bass preferred).
Teach applied voice. Excellence in teaching a diverse array of styles within the voice studio (including classical, commercial, musical theatre, and sacred/worship) is an expectation for this position. Provide academic advising to music majors; participate in faculty governance, recruit voice students. Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to the candidate’s strengths and the needs of the institution which may include co-directing opera theatre (conducting or staging), vocal pedagogy, vocal diction, vocal literature, and involvement in musical theatre productions.
The successful candidate will be an experienced musician and teacher with a commitment to liberal arts education. An earned doctorate in music or ABD status, along with evidence of successful teaching and creative activity/research.
