The Temple Church Choir is seeking to engage an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated singing teacher to support and encourage our choristers through their learning and development.
The Temple Church Choir is formed of 16 highly talented choristers who each receive a scholarship.
We are looking for an experienced singing teacher who has a good record of working in a high achieving environment and who strives to achieve the best results. At the Temple Church we aim to inspire, enrich, nurture and develop each chorister to fullfil their musical potential in a friendly and encouraging environment. You must have a great understanding of youth singing, in particular changing boys’ voices, and a vivid interest in teaching through a friendly and thorough yet flexible and digestible approach.
You will be working alongside singing teacher Michael Jamieson Smith, who has been teaching our choristers for over five years. Mike teaches on Monday and Friday. Other members of the music staff with whom you will be working closely are Roger Sayer (Director of Music), Thomas Allery (Assistant Director of Music), Charles Andrews (Liturgical Organist) and Elisabeth Munns (Music Administrator). We would like this position to start in January 2021, week beginning 4th January, but this could be negotiable for the right candidate. Teaching days are Wednesday and Thursday, 4.30-6pm. Due to the pandemic, teaching on Wednesdays is currently delivered online.
See website for complete job description and requirements.
