The Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Program for Singers is internationally recognized as one of the finest programs of its type. On average each year approximately 40 apprentice singers are chosen from a competitive applicant pool. An apprenticeship at "America's premier summer opera festival" offers unmatched opportunities for professional experience and international exposure.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty related to COVID-19 and governmental restrictions, the Santa Fe Opera will be screening and auditioning candidates online for consideration of acceptance into the 2021 Apprentice Program for Singers. Please note: no live auditions will be held this year.
See website for complete application and recording requirements.
The Apprentice Singer Program of the Santa Fe Opera is operated in agreement with The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). This agreement limits the eligibility of candidates to those who:
* have NOT, prior to apprenticeship with the Santa Fe Opera, performed total of six (6) different roles with another professional opera company under regular AGMA Artist's Contract
* have NOT been engaged by the Santa Fe Opera more than once before under Apprentice Artist status by AGMA.
