Description
The Colorado Mesa University Department of Music seeks a dynamic Director of Vocal Ensembles for a full-time, one-year interim position to fulfill its mission to prepare musicians for the 21st Century. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Direct choirs, including Vocal Arts Ensemble, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Soprano/Alto Choir, and/or Tenor/Bass Choir.
Recruit and retain choir members.
Recruit and retain vocal majors.
Teach one academic course per semester in the choral area on a rotation basis, including Teaching Vocal Music K-12, Teaching Special Ensembles (Jazz and Show Choir), Advanced Choral Conducting, and Choral Literature.
Advise choral music education students on graduation requirements and careers and supervise student teaching internships.
Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Master’s degree in music.
Significant teaching experience.
