The United States Army Field Band announces a vacancy for an alto soloist.
Job Description:
Perform as a vocal soloist and singer in the Soldiers’ Chorus of The United States Army Field Band
Tour approximately 100-120 days per year in the U.S. and abroad • Perform as needed in small ensembles
Work with Educational Outreach Program in schools across the nation Position requires a minimum 4-year enlistment -- the candidate will be informed of acceptance prior to enlistment
Other duties as required in service to the organization
Qualifications:
• Professional performance level
• Experience in the entertainment industry preferred
• Ability to own the stage as a soloist and ensemble vocalist and connect with live and virtual audiences
• Ability to meet Army height/weight standards prior to live audition and maintain a physically fit appearance
• Civilian applicants must be 17-34 years of age
• U.S. citizen or other qualified resident
Audition Process:
Submit a resumé with current physical address, phone, and email in PDF format, and provide a link to YouTube videos (private links acceptable) to: usarmyfieldbandauditions@mail.mil The videos should include the following:
1. Two selections demonstrating commercial performances to be selected from the Billboard Hot 100, R&B/Hip-Hop, Country, Latin, Rock or Pop (minimum of 20 weeks’ time on the charts)
2. An a capella performance of the National Anthem in F, Gb, G, or Ab.
3. Candidates may also submit one selection either from musical theatre OR an art song.
Applicants selected from screening of recordings will be invited for a personal interview and audition.
