Auditions for Something Rotten.

Auditions: November 7 & 8, at 7 p.m.

Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt St, Hudson, OH 44236

Performances: Feb. 4, 5, 11, 12, 13*, 18, 19, 20*, 25 & 26, 2022

Cast 8 men, 2 women and a large chorus. All roles available

**Due to recent conditions, we will be requiring proof of vaccination prior to auditioning for Something Rotten, and masks will be required when not onstage actively auditioning.

For vocal auditions please prepare a song (32 measures max) demonstrating your best vocal talents. Please do not prepare a song that is from the show. An accompanist will be provided. A script with dialogue selections will be given to you to read. Basic dance movements will be taught to show your dancing ability. If you are a ‘tapper’ please bring your tap dancing shoes! Dancers, don’t be intimidated by the singing and acting auditions, your dancing abilities will take priority!

The Story: Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadows of that Renaissance rockstar known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.

The Hudson Players is a volunteer community theater. We do not precast. All roles are available.
