Description

The Department of Music at Williams College announces a full-time Artist in Residence and Lecturer appointment in Choral/Vocal activities beginning in the fall of 2022. The initial contract is for 3 years and is renewable thereafter on an ongoing basis with the possibility of longer contracts and promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Duties- Direct the Concert and Chamber Choirs. Teach one related course per year such as choral conducting or vocal arranging. An additional Winter Study term course is required every other year. (It is possible that other forms of teaching and/or additional ensemble direction during the regular semesters could substitute for the Winter Study requirement.) A complete listing of current courses and ensembles in the department and their descriptions can be viewed at http://music.williams.edu. Participate in departmental operations along with the other full-time faculty members.

Qualifications

DMA in Choral studies with particular expertise in ensemble direction. Doctorate must be in hand by September 2022. Teaching/directing experience at the undergraduate level is desirable. A commitment to building a thriving choral program at this liberal arts college is essential.
