The School of Music in the College of Arts and Media at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU Carbondale) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice/Assistant Lecturer, Voice faculty position. This is a term, non-tenure track, full-time, on a Nine-month appointment. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach studio voice to classical and music theater (CCM) singers. Teach singer’s diction, opera workshop, voice class. Recruit voice students. Coordinate the voice area. Possible teaching duties may also include ensemble direction or song literature or other courses based on the needs of the department and qualifications of the candidate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Music in performance. Soprano or mezzo-soprano. Experience studio teaching in a variety of styles at the collegiate level.
