Opera Maine is seeking singers for Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman chorus in a fully staged production sung in German. Please consider this wonderful opportunity to join a professional opera cast and production crew.

One aria or art song, preferably in German

Audition Details:

Saturday, March 19, 12:00 – 4:00 PM

Location: Mountainside Community Church, 18 Mountain Rd., Falmouth, Maine (parking in rear of church)

Accompanist provided.

Important Covid Announcement:

A vaccination and booster are required to audition and to participate in the production. Please bring your vaccination card to the audition. All singers must wear a mask, observe safe distancing, and follow directions of audition staff. Singers may remove their mask while singing.

If you cannot attend the auditions but would like to be considered, please send a recent high-quality video to act as your audition. Deadline for video submissions is March 18, 2022.

Please note: Chorus members are expected to attend all music and staging rehearsals. Rare exceptions are granted with prior permission from both Nicolás Alberto Dosman and Dona D. Vaughn.

STAGING REHEARSALS, at Merrill Auditorium, will begin Thursday, July 7, and be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturdays and Sundays during the month of July. Expect almost daily rehearsals during Tech week July 19-24. Dress Rehearsal is Monday, July 25, Performances Wednesday, July 27 and Friday, July 29, 2022.
