Texas A&M is seeking an Assistant Director, Choral Activities.

The Assistant Director of Choral Activities, under the general direction of the Director of Choral Activities, is responsible for teaching students choral music within Music Activities within the scope of academic classes; recruits and promotes student choirs, coordinates selection and coordination of music repertoire, conducts local and out-of-town concerts, and oversees finances; someone who is committed to student learning and student excellence both through musical experiences and personal growth.The selected candidate will subscribe to and support our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability (IDEA) as stated above. Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Five years’ experience in performance, directing collegiate choral programs, teaching, administration or other related experience

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to lead in a choir in all aspects of a collegiate program – recruitment, selection, maintenance, music repertoire, rehearsal technique, concert planning and execution, tour planning and execution

Oral and written communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
