Description
Grambling State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Music/Applied Voice.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Teach courses in vocal music to include teaching voice lessons to music majors, facilitate seminar sessions, teach vocal methods courses, diction courses, oversee Opera Workshop Program and other courses depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise.
Actively engage in curriculum development, grant writing, student recruitment, which includes visiting high schools to connect with music teachers and prospective music students, attending conferences, and representing the Department of Music at events on and off campus. Serve on school, college, and university committees as assigned.
Education, Minimum Training and Experience Required
A Doctorate in Music (Voice) is required and evidence of 5 years’ experience. Articulated vision to build a vibrant and diverse undergraduate music vocal program. The desired candidate must have strong written communication skills.
