Shreveport Opera Resident Artist Program

Shreveport Opera Xpress is the touring and outreach arm of Shreveport Opera. The program involves extensive touring into area schools. You will also be cast in supporting - possible leading roles in the main stage season. You are also expected to act as section leader in the Shreveport Opera chorus - though most of the time you are not in the chorus.

This is an eight-month Young Artist Residency Program in Shreveport Louisiana that has very heavy in-school performance schedule throughout Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas. Date range is from Mid-August to Thanksgiving & Jan. 1 - Mid- May. Please do not apply if you are not available. In most seasons resident artists perform supporting and/or leading roles in mainstage operas. We will be hiring four main voice types - Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, Baritone/Bass-Baritone
