Auditions: June 23, 2023

Start date: September 1, 2023

The day of audition will be divided in three different parts: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.

1st round:

1.An opera aria in original version preferably amongst the following composers: Bellini, Berlioz, Donizetti, Gounod, Massenet, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Weber

2.A chorus excerpt from Verdi’s Macbeth (see link below)

3.Rossini’s vocalise

2nd round:

1.A chorus excerpt from Jean Sébastien Bach’s Jesu, meine Freude (see link below)

2. A chorus excerpt from Gioachino Rossini‘s Stabat Mater (see link below)

3.Decoding of a melody or abstracts from an opera choir or oratorio.

The candidate will have 5 minutes to prepare this test.

3rd round:

1.Rehearsal with the choir:

Working with women’s voices and then with the whole alto choir, under the musical direction of the choir master for the following excerpts:

•Maurice Ravel’s Nicolette (see link below)

•Benjamin Britten’s The Ballad of Green Broom (see link below)

•Norman Luboff’s Dream a little dream of me (see link below)

2.Interview
