The Marketing Director manages the day-to-day operations of Opera Orlando’s marketing department in the key areas of strategy and budgeting, advertising and promotion, digital marketing, programs, grassroots, and public relations. The Marketing Director reports to the General Director and Artistic Director who aid in the direction of company/institutional branding, creative and marketing for each season, and public relations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Strategy

? Subscription planning and campaign management

? Manage all creative development of brochures, ads, mailers, radio spots, and commercials

? Management of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website, email marketing, linked in, constant contact, and social advertising

? Coordinate photo shoots and develop promotional items for each production and event

? Coordinate marketing materials

? Work with Marketing Committee to establish annual strategy

? Research and analyze future trends to identify new audiences in opera and the arts

Point-of-Purchase

? Work with internal and external ticketing team on presentation of sale

? Creation of content of ticket copy for the box office

? Create and distribute pre-show communications to all ticket holders to ensure personalized information is distributed to facilitate a seamless, customizable experience for all patrons

Grass Roots

? Organize grassroots distribution of print materials

? Seek out and coordinate delivery of materials to other events

? Seek community partners for cross-marketing and promotional opportunities

? Ensure updated materials are stocked and displayed at the various venues and Box Offices utilized by the company

? Manage marketing efforts for ancillary events

? Create and update events on various websites (Orlando at Play, WMFE, Community Calendars, Pulptown, etc...)

? Coordinate in-house signage and marquees

? Coordinate creation of scheduling the slides for monitors throughout performance venues, ensure that messages are accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive

? Maintain schedule of posters and banners throughout venues, working with design to ensure that posters are displayed in a timely fashion

Design

? Work with Artistic Director on vision for all print/digital materials

? Purchase and distribution of print material

? Design, create, and resize additional flyers, inserts, etc. as needed

? Slide creation for events and mainstage

? Oversee photography and videography

? Assist in the creation of graphic design and video assets

? Assist in the creation of website assets and email campaigns

Advertising and Promotion

? Media Placement for print, radio, tv, and digital

? Media sponsorships, trade agreements, media promotions and ticket giveaways

? Coordinate with box office to set up ticket promotion/promo codes

? Facebook, YouTube, and Google Advertisements

? Radio and TV buys

? Work with General Director to handle all interview and other media requests

Digital Marketing

? Manage and update Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube Channels

? Update and maintain Opera Orlando website including rental page

? Schedule, create, and edit eBlasts and other direct to patron communications

? Attend rehearsals for shows as needed to get content for social media platforms

? Manage photographer for shows and assist on marketing backup with press runs, video shoots

? Brainstorm, create, and place paid digital advertisements

? Coordinate audience surveys sent out after every production

? Create online events such as community or development events

? Create content for social media channels including writing posts, taking photos, and developing creative storytelling strategy.

? Organize digital content reviews, articles, and videos for archives

? Create copy for Opera Orlando website

? Proactively engage with users on social media in line with brand guidelines to help foster an online community.

? Track and analyze social media analytics for social channels and websites. Evaluate large analytics and data sets to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

? Identify Google analytic strategy to measure and increase search engine optimization

? Partner with teams to create other ancillary materials, presentations, and online content, that will increase audience enjoyment of the company’s artistic programs

Programs

? Work in collaboration with the General Director and Artistic Director to produce up to 6 program books a year

? Write and coordinate preliminary content as needed

? Attend program meetings as needed

? Work on edits as needed

? Adhere to program schedule and deadlines determined by General Director

Administration

? Create and manage budgets and invoicing

? Manage quotes, orders, mailings, and distribution of promotional materials

? Lead weekly Marketing Meetings

? Point of contact for all design approvals

? Attend productions and necessary events as needed

? Maintain and organize Marketing folder on the company drive

? Access to donor/patron software with development and finance departments

? Partner with marketing and the ticket office to ensure seamless and efficient sales systems online, by phone, and at the box office

Other

? Attend community events, donor events, and participate in staff or committee meetings as necessary

? Complete post show surveys for quantitative evidence, create focus groups for qualitative evidence

? Create draft marketing reports for Board Meetings to be approved by General Director

? Review trends of ticketing and specific production engagement

Requirements:

? Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Arts Administration or Marketing

? Proficiency in creative design, strategic planning, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and background in media and communication

? Knowledge and enthusiasm for opera and the arts

? Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

? Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

? Proofreading (knowledge of APA Style)

? Knowledge of software such as Constant Contact, SurveyMonkey, Squarespace, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.

? Proficient in reporting skills, data entry, creativity, working independently and collaboratively, statistical analysis, and social media content management skills

? Experience work with various social media channels (including

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)

? Basic experience with DSLR cameras

? Creativity combined with attention to detail

? Possess valid driver’s license

This position is intended to be dynamic, therefore, duties and responsibilities may vary based upon organizational needs.

Timeline

? The team at Opera Orlando would want this position to start on February 1, 2022.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
