Ridgewood Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company

We will be holding auditions for our November 2022 production of The Pirates of Penzance on March 28 & 29, as well as digitally for those unable to join us in person. In addition, we will be auditioning anyone interested in performing in our spring concert: 85 Years of Ridgewood G&S in 85 Years, taking place on May 22.

Singing:

Performers auditioning for principal roles should prepare two selections - with at least one being Gilbert & Sullivan - in the style of the show. If auditioning for a principal role, singing a selection from the show is suggested, though other English light opera is also acceptable. Those auditioning for the chorus - or only auditioning for our 85 Years of Ridgewood G&S in 85 Years concert - should sing 32 bars of what they feel most comfortable performing (English preferred).

Acting:

At auditions, all auditioning for principal roles will read sides from the production. Links to the sides will be posted shortly, and we will also supply side copies at the audition.

For digital auditions, simply complete these requirements (2 singing excerpts and reading of at least one side) and upload them as unlisted YouTube links. Then, include the links in your audition registration to complete your audition.

To ensure the health and safety of our auditioners and company members, we are requiring proof of vaccination for all participants.
