Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for a full-time faculty position as pianist/coach and instructor of repertoire courses in the Music Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated, creative professional who is committed to excellence in teaching, has a demonstrated record of musical engagement as a performer and coach, and will actively contribute to a campus community that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. This is a 9-month full-time faculty position with renewable contract; initial appointment to begin September 1, 2022. Compensation and rank are commensurate with professional experience.

Primary duties for this position include individual private coaching for recital and audition preparation with students in the MM Voice Performance and BM Voice Performance programs as well as the MM Opera and MM Vocal Pedagogy degree programs; teaching any of the following repertoire courses, based on interest and areas of specialization: Italian Song Repertoire; German Lieder Repertoire; English/American Song Repertoire; Oratorio; Early Music; other proposed repertoire elective courses based on the candidate’s specialties. Other courses may include: Drama of the Score; Song Analysis Through Text; Vocal/Piano Duo and other courses in the Collaborative Piano program including private lessons. Again, depending on the areas of specialization, teaching may include opera coaching and classes, private coaching in the MFA musical theater vocal pedagogy program, or Musical Theater repertoire classes in the MFA program. Service to the Conservatory can include academic advisement, MFA thesis advisement, admissions recruitment, or other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or comparable professional experience

• Minimum 3 years teaching in accredited higher education institution

• An openness to diverse musical styles and ways of learning/teaching

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Desire to work within a diverse faculty and student body
