Portland Opera

Portland Opera is excited to hear local singers interested in joining our outstanding Chorus for the 2025/2026 season. We are currently auditioning for Regular and Alternate Chorister positions in the Soprano, Tenor, and Baritone/Bass sections. While there are no current openings for Mezzo Sopranos, singers in that range are encouraged to audition for future consideration.

Audition Requirements:

* Prepare and memorize two contrasting selections:

- One opera aria in Italian, German, or French

- One art song or oratorio excerpt in a different language

* An accompanist will be provided, or you may bring your own

* Singers may be asked to make musical, vocal, or linguistic adjustments during the audition to assess responsiveness to direction.
