William Daniel Mills Apprenticeship Program

Applicants for this program must submit a short video application and go through an interview or audition process.

Accepted apprentices will be able to select areas of theatre to focus on: performance, directing, design, technical work, and/or education.

Participants will be able to take Garden Theatre Education masterclasses, camps, and classes at no cost, in addition to attending rehearsals, performances, and other events at no cost.

Apprentices will also be considered for paid opportunities working on Garden Theatre mainstage productions and education programs.

Application Dates: April 1 – May 2, 2022

Program Dates: July 2022 – June 2023

All apprentices will be required to attend an orientation in July 2022, professional development workshops Monday evenings in the fall of 2022 as well as take part in original/devised play in May 2023. Other classes, performance and workshop dates will be outlined on an individual basis.

Auditions/Interviews: Selected applicants will be invited to interview and audition slots taking place Saturday, May 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm or Monday, May 23, 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

Those interested in performance tracks must prepare a one-minute Monologue and 32 Bar Song and will go through an interview.

Those interested in non-performance roles will go through an interview process. Portfolios and any supplemental artistic materials are welcome but not required.
