Lyric Opera Studio Weimar is an intensive, month-long training studio, set in the heart of the historic cultural centre of Weimar.

We are unique to opera training programs in that our program gives singers a realistic view into launching a career in the German theatre system. Our faculty are successful artists and pedagogues who have careers in opera houses in Germany and throughout Europe – professionals with important industry connections that will help you get a foothold in the business.

We offer approximately 35 positions each session; this ensures an excellent teacher to student ratio, as well as a high degree of individualised attention, tailored to your own development and career goals. You’ll have the opportunity to perform an entire role from the standard operatic repertoire, in one of the most historic cultural cities in Germany. Your time at the Studio will give you a realistic idea of what is required to launch your career – and just as importantly – what it takes to live and work as a singer in Germany.

Scholarships

There are a limited number of partial scholarships available to candidates displaying particular need and ability. If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, please include a letter stating clearly the amount of support for which you wish to be considered, as well as the amount and other sources of financial support you have already secured.
