Florentine Opera

Florentine Opera will hold open auditions for experienced, classically trained singers in all voice categories for the company’s choral ensemble for the 24/25 season under the direction of Chorus Master Dr. Benjamin Rivera.

24/25 MAINSTAGE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Madama Butterfly (Puccini)

music rehearsals between mid August and early October, 2024

staging rehearsals from October 7 - 17, 2024

performances October 18 & 20, 2024

Sopranos, Mezzo Sopranos, and Tenors only

Carmen (Bizet)

music rehearsals between mid February and early May 2025

staging rehearsals from May 4 - 14, 2025

performances May 16 & 18, 2025

all voice types

Auditions will be held on May 14, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Lueders Opera Center in Milwaukee’s Historic Riverwest community at 926 East Burleigh Street.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

* Headshot (or high quality “selfie”)

* Performance resume

* Two pieces with one in a foreign language (see additional details below)

* A prepared excerpt from Chorus Master Benjamin Rivera

Please plan to audition with two contrasting classical pieces of your choosing which best show off your vocal talents, your vocal range, your musicality, and your acting ability. One of these pieces should be in a language other than English, and should fit one of the following categories:

art song

opera aria

solo aria from an oratorio or classical piece
