The Joyce and Henry Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University seeks a Director of Choral Activities to begin August 2022. This is a 10-month full-time tenure-eligible faculty position. This endowed chair, The Paul S. and Jean R. Amos Distinguished Chair in Choral Activities, provides significant professional support for artistic endeavors.

Responsibilities include: maintaining and building upon a vibrant program of choral activities, in collaboration with colleagues; conducting the University Singers, Choral Union, and other ensembles as appropriate; participate actively in student recruitment; demonstrate ongoing engagement with creative activity as scholarship through performance as conductor; in addition, may teach courses such as conducting, class voice, diction, or production related courses depending on the candidate's qualifications and the needs of the school; and working collaboratively with faculty members from the voice area and the theatre department on opera and musical theatre productions.

Candidates should have at minimum a completed Master's degree in Choral Conducting or a related field; or equivalent significant professional experience; teaching experience at the college level or equivalent significant professional experience; evidence of high quality, sustained scholarly/creative activity in music performance; and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and master's level teaching and student recruitment.

Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
