The School of Music invites applications for an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Music (Voice) available August 20, 2021.
Responsibilities: primarily to teach undergraduate and graduate studio voice as well as to recruit and maintain a strong studio; additionally, to maintain a national profile in performance and professional service; perform as a soloist and in faculty ensembles as needed; teach ancillary courses such as diction, literature, and/or pedagogy; advance students in academic matters; assist students in job and graduate school placement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completed master’s degree in vocal performance.
A documented history of professional activity in voice performance.
Two years of teaching experience at the university level, gained concurrently or at any time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in vocal performance and/or strong performance/scholarly background as a requisite to serving on the university graduate faculty. Mezzo-soprano voice preferred. Language skills for performing in English, Italian, German, and French.
