Univ of Tennessee Southern seeks Instructor or Assistant/Associate Director of Choral Activities.

Summary of Position

Must recruit and mentor students from diverse academic backgrounds and work well and collaboratively with colleagues within the music program and throughout campus. Must have strong vocal and choral pedagogical skills, as well as keyboard proficiency. This position includes a significant outreach to the greater community, and the campus. The choral program maintains an annual highly-anticipated and well-attended Lessons and Carols performance at Christmas which frequently involves collaboration with local arts groups. Possibilities exist for radio and local television broadcast.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Music or Music Education preferred.

• Master’s degree in Music or Music Education required.

• Accompanist ability and/or licensure in Music Ed are desirable.

• Willingness to recruit for summer teaching.
