Northern Vermont University-Johnson invites applications for the position of Part-time Faculty, Performing Arts, Choral Conductor, beginning August 2021 to join our team of teaching artists at the NVU-Johnson Performing Arts Department. NVU fosters the intellectual, creative, and personal growth of every student in a community committed to diversity and inclusion. We provide innovative professional and liberal arts educational experiences that prepare students to be critical thinkers and engaged global citizens.
The successful candidate will teach the following course during the fall, 2021 semester.
MUS 2220 Music Ensemble M/W 4:00 - 5:30pm
The successful candidate will choose the semester's repertoire, host performances, lead the choir in warm-ups and rehearsal, and coordinate with our accompanist. The ideal candidate will not only teach the course listed above, but will also engage and mentor students. The successful candidate will work effectively with support staff, collaborate with various academic departments, and work with a broad range of student knowledge skills, abilities, and interests.
For consideration, candidates must possess a terminal degree in music (or ABD) and professional experience in conducting. Consideration will also go to applicants with a master's in music if there is a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and degree within the VSC Part-Time Faculty Federation Agreement.
