Cape Rep Theatre will hold open auditions for From the Heart of the Wreck a new play by Kirsten Peacock and Nick Nudler, to be performed August 17 thru September 10 in Cape Rep's Indoor Theater.
About From the Heart of the Wreck
Entrenched in folklore and woven in history, this sea-faring adventure explores the relationship between the notorious pirate Sam Bellamy and his mysterious mistress Goody Hallett, The Witch of Wellfleet, through humor, storytelling and song. From the wreck of the Whydah Galley comes a story of timeless romance, swashbuckling escapades, and supernatural revenge.

Seeking actors skilled in devised theatre, physical storytelling, and folk singing. We are looking for creators who are enthusiastic about collaborative processes to help shape and perform in this folkloric adventure. This play includes text, movement and sea-shanties galore. This is a paid opportunity.
For in-person auditions:
Please bring a folk tale of your choosing to share with us (approx. 1 minute) and come prepared to move and sing. We will be teaching a song in the room.
Auditions are by appointment. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one. Wear appropriate clothing for movement. Proof of vaccination is required for all performers. Masks are required in the lobby prior to auditioning. Please email an appointment request along with your headshot and resume to auditions@caperep.org.

A folk story of your choosing (about 1 minute) and about 16 bars of any song you like to sing. Please email videos or links along with your headshot and resume to auditions@caperep.org.
