2022 Vocal Competition

Opera at Florham's 32nd Annual Vocal Competition Honoring Violetta Dupont. Young singers pursuing careers as vocal artists compete from around the world for $10,000 in prizes.

The competition audition process is two-fold: preliminary live listening before jurists only, and the final selection at the Vocal Competition open to the public. Entrants, age 21-35, submit an application which includes the entrant’s resume and recommendations. The preliminary round can attract over 100 entrants. The preliminaries are traditionally held in New York City a few weeks prior to the Vocal Competition, held at one of Opera at Florham's venues in New Jersey. The preliminary selection jury identifies 8-12 finalists who are invited to compete in a public forum before a celebrated collection of jurists which have included, in the past, famed opera singers Licia Albanese and Jerome Hines.
